River adventures since 2010

Our idea started in 2010 when we needed someone to walk our active dog, Ari. We couldn’t find anyone in the area who could accommodate a big run or swim and no one was taking out dog packs. So what do you do when there isn’t a service to meet your needs? Start your own company of course! We started this business for all the dogs like Ari (and lots of other dogs too).
We also realize many people don’t have the time, energy or lifestyle to get their dogs out for a daily hike or river adventure. At eXtreme K9s, we believe well-exercised dogs make better pets and promote calmer homes. Our pack-style romps will provide your dog both an eXtreme adventure and a social experience all in one session!
eXtreme K9s was born out of our love for the outdoors, exercise and most of all our relationship with our best friend. We would like to share these experiences with the dogs in your household.
eXtreme K9s is insured through PetSitters Association, LLC

Cori Preheim - Owner and Operator
I am a mountain girl through and through. I was born and raised in the Sierra Nevada Mountains above Fresno near Shaver Lake. As the youngest of 8 children, I grew up with dogs - lots of dogs. I am very physically active and love to run, hike, bike, ski and CrossFit.
I began practicing with pack romps on the river trails in 2010 before I opened. Ten years later, I have around 6,000 hours out with the dogs and I am more confident than ever leading our pack family safely each and every day.
Prior to opening eXtreme K9s, my full time job was in law enforcement until our daughter, Ohana, was born. Now I am raising our daughters (plural!) and ensuring your canines get out for the exercise they need. I look forward to your dog joining our river adventures soon!

Mike
Mike is a Sacramento native who grew up on the American River Parkway exploring many of the areas we take our pack. He is an animal lover that didn’t have any pets as a kid and is making up for lost time. When he's not leading the pack or at home dog sitting, Mike and his dog Leeloo like to stay active and outdoors hiking, camping, backpacking and playing disc golf and basketball. He also runs an eBay store selling vintage and secondhand goods.
Mike has been with eXtreme K9s since 2018 and is a dependable and safe pack leader. Mike also has a talent for GoPro videos and has started to follow the dogs on a regular basis. Check out his awesome adventure clips on Instagram!

Ohana (in training)
Ohana is my older daughter and accompanies me from time to time. She is my river diva, dog walker extraordinaire, chief adventurer, collector of all nature things and ruler of the dog run. She will collect sticks for the dogs to chase, tell them what to do, walk them, feed them, love them, and read to them at the house. I couldn't find a better partner to spend a morning at the river.
Interesting river fact: this sandbar Ohana is walking on no longer exists in this location. It was moved down river about 1/4 mile during the high waters in 2016/2017. The dogs love everything about this sandbar!

Romi (in training)
Our red-headed "little one" is very much in charge. Romi enjoys climbing into the dog crates and beds playing house with her "babies." While her sister tries to teach her the ways of the dog whisperer, she happily does her own thing. Romi knows all of the dogs by name and color. She particularly likes little Gracie, Janie and a rabbit named "BunBun". Watch out for this one - she will take over one day!
